Introducing Small and Simple
A refresh to my newsletter and a new platform. Thoughts, resources, and interesting things related to small business, small and ethical tech, remote work, and improving life and work.
Whew, it's been a year, eh?
I took a sabbatical, my first, from September through November. I took some time to ride the motorcycle, clear my head, read, write, and think about life and business. I definitely needed to recharge the batteries. I'll share more about this, and my thoughts on balancing life and work, in the coming weeks.
I've been evaluating the idea of positive imbalance over at Drifter Life. I am using this space to research and curate resources for a different way of living, remote work, and exploring this beautiful world. If you're interested in this kind of discussion and information, you can subscribe to the Drifter Life Dispatch, which will ship Sunday mornings.
I recently simplified the Duce Enterprises website and service offerings. I hope you check it out and let me know how I can help you be successful! I'm making a significant shift to ethical, small technology wherever possible. If you're interested in doing something similar, reply to this email and let's see how we can make it happen.
One example: I recently started migrating all of my websites (and most of my clients) over to Fathom Analytics as part of my migration away from all things Google. The devs that make Fathom focus on simple, useful analytics, speed, and, most importantly, privacy. We all win with a focus on ethical, humane technology and usable interfaces.

“The best thing you can do in any period of change is to bet on neither black or white. The future will be made up instead of shades of grey where few things are certain and the best you can do to prepare is to be endlessly adaptable.”
– Why Do So Many People Want Us Back in the Office?“Here’s to hoping that as the world of work evolves beyond its tactile foundation, we can find a way to extract similar levels of calm human contentment from our daily efforts.”

Be sure to watch the video in this post. Fascinating!“Two-thirds (67%) of remote workers say their lifestyle has gotten healthier since working from home.
About two in five remote workers (41%) say that since working from home, they've been eating healthier snacks throughout the day. About the same amount (38%) say they've been taking time to cook their meals.”
